Campus Law Enforcement Policies

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College provides campus security through the use of several local law enforcement agencies and campus safety coordinators. Security on the North Campus is provided by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. Security on the South, College Station, CBTC and NCRC Campuses are provided by officers from the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office. All local law enforcement agency officers are fully certified as law enforcement officers in North Carolina and are armed while on duty and have the authority to make arrests and carry out other law enforcement actions as they would elsewhere within their respective jurisdictions.

The timely, accurate, and thorough communication of information about emergency events and on-campus crimes is an important aspect of effective public safety. A primary purpose of the College Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is to provide accurate information as promptly as possible to help persons associated with the College, assess the safety and well-being of individuals and facilities, and allow the College to communicate accurate information in a consistent manner through authorized spokespersons.
