Cosmetology Programs

Our Cosmetology courses are designed to provide the training and meet the requirements of the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners to qualify graduating students to take their licensure exam. All of the following academic programs cover these classes but have varying levels of academic expectations.

Associate Degree

This program includes all of the core required Cosmetology courses. It also includes two additional Cosmetology courses, Contemporary Color and Contemporary Design, in addition to several general education courses which may apply to other programs of study. This degree is required by most public Cosmetology schools for any of their instructors.

Diploma

This program is very similar to the certificate program, but in addition to the required Cosmetology courses, it includes an English and a social science. These are considered general education courses and may apply to other programs of study.

Certificate

This program includes only the core necessary Cosmetology courses and is sufficient to meet board requirements to take the full licensure exam.
