Ceremony Information

Congratulations Graduates!

As you approach this milestone in your life, the faculty and staff of Rowan-Cabarrus celebrate your success. Our graduation ceremonies are events of significance and are accomplished with considerable planning to ensure a memorable occasion of which you can be proud.

*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 May Commencement has been has been postponed and will be held on December 18, 2020.  Graduates from the Fall of 2019, Spring of 2020, Summer 2020, and Fall of 2020 are eligible to participate in this ceremony.

Commencement is held at the end of spring semester. To participate in the graduation ceremony, you are expected to successfully complete your program requirements:

  • in the Fall semester prior to the ceremony
  • in the Spring semester of the ceremony
  • or be enrolled in your final courses in the Summer semester following the ceremony

Specific information about tickets, cap and gown pickup and details about which ceremony you will attend are found on the ceremony timeline page on our website.

If you or your guests require special seating or other accommodations due to disabilities, the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center is Disability Accessible. If you need a seat on the arena floor, there is an elevator available. Commencement ceremonies will also be streamed live through the College’s Facebook page. Come join us!!

The photographer will be taking pictures as graduates receive their diploma cover during the ceremony. You will be given an opportunity to purchase these pictures. For further information visit the Grad Images website.

High School Equivalency and Adult High School Graduates

For questions regarding High School Equivalency and Adult High School graduation or the purchase of black caps and gowns, please contact the College and Career office at 704-216-3510 or visit them at North Campus in Building 400, room 4206.

Degrees, diplomas, and certificates are not given out at the graduation ceremony.
